ACCOMPLISMENT:

For the past 32 years I have worked in the IT and Electronics field as a Manager of Systems Support and Network Engineer specializing in Computers, Telecommunications and Electronics.

My vast experience ranges from working in multiple LAN/WAN networked environments as well as providing managerial and systems support for large computer companies like Comcast Communications, IBM, Vanguard, MCI WorldCom and Brocade as well as intermediate to small companies.

PGTEK assigned to Brocade as Resonant Consultant (BRC) / Network Engineer and Architect to support the following Brocade Projects

CSC (Computer Science Corporation).                                                               July 2015 – Present

·   Worked with Brocade’s and CSC’s Network Architecture team to design, implement build out and troubleshoot two Data Centers in Raleigh Durham NC and  Bossier City LA that will mirror each other for redundant purposes.

·   The following Brocade equipment was implemented and deployed: The Core configuration utilized VDX8770’s Fabric Switches, and MLXe’s Core Router/Switches. The Aggregation layer consisted of VDX6740 fabric Switches and ICX6610 Management Switches. Other Brocade Technologies utilized is the Vyatta Vrouter, along with the Brocade BNA and interfaced with Polo Alto Firewalls and F5 5250v Load Balancer’s as well as Riverbed CX-7070H’s.

·    Some of LAN/WAN protocols were VRRP-E, VLAN, OSPF, MPLS and EBGP / IBGP along with redistribution.

Worked with Global Net-Ops team along with Telecom and ISP Providers such as AT&T/ IBM, Verizon and British Telecom to expedite the design processes for the following projects (secure tunneling for egress points to implement Office 365), (VPN tunneling for Windows 7 upgrades) and some migration work as well. Primary responsibilities are the Cisco switch and device design, implementation, migration and refresh from Cisco EOL 3550 in the IDF’s to HP Procurve 3800’s and Cisco 3750’s infrastructure. Utilize ITIL best practices to manage IT department and trained internal personnel to assume the management role when completed. This assignment was a dual position with Network Engineer to technically support responsibilities; design, and implementation of new policies in two offices (Pennsylvania and New Jersey). VP/Technical Manager- Owned and managed S-Corporation

Responsible for project management, sales, customer relations, communications, team development and training for multiple projects. Earl Naval Base (DOD clearance obtained for self and team); a three phase project consisted of the removal of existing thick-net cabling and interfaces; conversion to Ethernet 10 Base T cabling and fiber backbone; installation of Cisco rack mounts (routers, switches catalysts/cores and hubs). Project specifications called for 2000 terminations and uplinks from multiple office complexes to the data center.  Data Star Projects consisted of installations, conversions, configurations of the following types of technologies: SATCOM uplinks, DS1, T-1’s, 56K, 128K fractional frame relay, ATM Systems, point to point and multi point fractional frame relay on both data/telecommunications equipment utilizing protocols like BGP, MPLS, RIP, OSPF, EIRGP, IRGP, BGP, RIP. Lead Field Engineer

Responsible for the design, implementation and build of Philadelphia’s metropolitan (MCDN) network.  Tracked and monitored project timelines, goals and vendor performance (on call 24x7). Responsible for Metricom’s wired and wireless site maintenance, interfacing issues and equipment, performed construct-ability analyses (site surveys) on potential candidate sites. Interfaced and worked with General Contractors to oversee the construction of WAP (cell) sites and build out activities.  Utilized diagnostic test scripts and monitoring software to resolve through-put, latency, packet loss, attenuation, saturation and signal strength issues.

Other procedures included setting azimuths of antennas; drive testing and utilizing spectrum analyzers for testing RF issues,  programming and troubleshooting of transmitters/receivers and all Telecom RF and DATA equipment and ATM Systems. All transmitters and receivers operated and worked on the ISM / WCS bands and utilized Spread Spectrum frequency hopping. Telecom and connectivity equipment included CISCO 7200 series, Cabletron 8600 and 2200 smart switches at NIF, WAP and NOC.
